As far as we know, no animals were hurt in the preparation of this web; however, it is possible that a few ground squirrels (prairie dogs) were in the right place at the wrong time. From a species sustainability point of view, there should be no long-term problems. For every squirrel that "got it", five or six came to the funeral.
