Callisto-Lx ~ Raspberry Pi Application for Callisto

Application: Calllisto-Lx is an inexpensive Linux application that controls the Callisto instrument:

  • Replaces Windows PC with Linux environment

  • EIA-232 interface for automatically or manually controlling the instrument

  • USB interfaces for hard drive or flash drive

  • Ethernet interface for connection to a local area network

  • Copies FITS files to the FHNW server in Switzerland and to local Network Attached Storage (NAS) and USB hard drive or flash drive for archiving

  • Unattended operation using scheduler files

  • Managed through command line interface from a Windows or another Linux PC

 

 Ordering:

P/N C-LX-E Callisto-Lx platform is available for ordering. It includes a Raspberry Pi model B+ computer platform, preprogrammed 8 GB micro-SD memory card and an aluminum enclosure with built-in dc-dc converter for powering the Callisto-Lx from a 12 Vdc power supply. Wi-Fi adapter available as an option - please inquire.

Complete documentation, which explains how to setup the Callisto-Lx for user environments, may be downloaded below. For users who already have a Raspberry Pi platform and power supply, a preprogrammed Callisto-Lx memory card only may be ordered - please inquire.

Operation:

The Callisto-Lx must have an adequate power supply and be connected to a Local Area Network (LAN) via wired Ethernet or wireless Wi-Fi device. The user specifies FTP server and client information and local environment by text editing configuration files on the Callisto-Lx. See documentation for additional details.

  • User configurable using an SSH terminal emulator on a PC
